Limi Valley
In Nepali: लिमी उपत्यका · Also known as: Halji · Til · Jang · लिमी

The Limi valley, reached over the 4,900 m Nyalu La, holds three villages — Til, Halji and Jang — whose people follow Tibetan Buddhism and a way of life based on yak herding and trade across the border. Halji's Rinchenling monastery is believed to date back around a thousand years.
Wild yak, blue sheep, snow leopards and wolves roam the high country. The Limi valley loop from Simikot, returning via Hilsa, takes about two weeks and is one of Nepal's most remote treks; a restricted-area permit is required.
What to see and do
Visit the ancient Rinchenling monastery in Halji with its old murals and statues, the villages of Til and Jang with their stone houses, and the hot springs near Jang. Watch for wild yak and blue sheep on the high pastures, and enjoy views of the Kailash range from the passes.
Good to know
This is a fully supported camping trek of around two weeks through very remote country. A restricted-area permit and licensed guide are required. The season is short: May to October.
